Ashley McKenzie has been confirmed as Jamaica’s representative in the sport of judo at the upcoming Paris Olympics.
This marks McKenzie’s fourth appearance at the Olympic Games, having previously competed for Great Britain. With this achievement, he becomes the first male Jamaican judoka to compete at the Olympics.
The confirmation of McKenzie’s qualification ends the Olympic hopes of fellow judoka Ebony Drysdale-Daley. Only one spot was available for a Jamaican judoka at the Games.
