Juliet Holness spearheads Jamaican Delegation’s working visit to Trinidad and Tobago

Juliet Holness, Speaker of the House of Representatives, is leading a Jamaican parliamentary delegation on a working visit to Trinidad and Tobago.

Exploring governance and technology

Accompanied by three other members including Colleen Lowe, Clerk to the Houses, the delegation is set to engage with Trinidad and Tobago’s parliamentary officials. 

Their agenda focuses on understanding the procedural dynamics, corporate governance, and the integration of information technology within parliamentary operations.

Collaborative discussions and observations

During their visit, the Jamaican delegates will engage in discussions with their Trinidadian counterparts on various topics of mutual interest. 

These interactions are designed to foster cooperation and share best practices between the two parliaments.

Additionally, the delegation will observe the day-to-day operations of the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago, providing them with practical insights into effective governance.

Objectives and expected outcomes

The focus is on enhancing operational efficiency through the better use of human resources and advanced technology, ultimately aiming to improve service delivery to the Jamaican populace.
