President of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), Michael Ricketts, has praised Reggae Girlz captain Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw following her recognition as the Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) Player of the Season on Friday.
This accolade adds to Shaw’s earlier triumph of being named the Football Writers’ Association Women’s Player of the Year.
In a statement released recently, the JFF expressed its excitement over Shaw’s continued success. “It’s pleasing to see Khadija receiving multiple accolades for her achievements. She obviously worked hard to improve her craft and the results have been overwhelming. The management and staff of the federation congratulate her heartily and wish her a speedy recovery from her injury,” the statement credited Ricketts as saying.
Shaw’s exceptional performance this season saw her scoring 21 goals and adding three assists in 18 games for Manchester City. Unfortunately, her season was cut short due to an injury.
Shaw’s stellar contributions have not only bolstered her club’s campaign but have also brought immense pride to Jamaica, highlighting her dedication and talent on the international stage.
