According to the Agency for Public Information (API) the 93-room Holiday Inn Express in Diamond, is being constructed by Trinidadian company NH International. Along with Cobblestone Inn, it will be the Government’s second state-owned hotel.

The project is being funded through a grant from the CARICOM Development Fund along with an investment by the Government of St Vincent and Grenadines of approximately $52 million.

Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves conducted a tour of the hotel on Thursday where he said with the opening of the hotel there will be more employment opportunities for those people trained in the hospitality sector as well as the spill-off effects in other sectors.

Location-wise, the Holiday Inn Express will be close to the Argyle International Airport and near to other facilities.

The Holiday Inn in St. Vincent will join a long line of the brands operation in the Caribbean with properties located in Jamaica, Trinidad, Aruba, Grand Cayman and Dominican Republic.
