The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) has announced the launch of a new intra-Caribbean flight service by Sunrise Airways, marking a significant boost in regional connectivity.
This newly introduced route will link Antigua, St. Lucia, Dominica, and Grenada, facilitating north-to-south travel across the Caribbean like never before. Travelers can now reach Grenada from Antigua in under three hours and from St. Lucia in just 45 minutes. The service will run three times a week, with flights scheduled on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
A highlight of the new service is the direct, non-stop flight from Castries Airport in St. Lucia to Grenada, significantly cutting transfer times to the capital and major resort areas. This seamless travel option aims to simplify the journey for vacationers, business professionals, and adventure seekers, making quick weekend trips or longer stays more accessible.
Colin Piper, a representative of Sunrise Airways, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “Sunrise Airways is thrilled to introduce service to Grenada. We now operate in five islands in the OECS as part of our Eastern Caribbean expansion. We fly to connect people, and our routes inspire travelers to discover new destinations when planning their trips.”
Petra Roach, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority, underscored the importance of the new route for the region’s tourism sector. “This new service is a major milestone in our goal to foster more regional tourism,” Roach said. “The Caribbean is our third-largest market for visitation to Grenada, and this improved connectivity between the north and south Caribbean provides an opportunity to stimulate demand even further. Our islands will benefit from strengthened economic and tourism links.”
The new flight route is part of the GTA’s broader strategy to enhance regional tourism and increase visitor traffic from neighboring islands. To encourage early bookings, Sunrise Airways is offering special introductory rates, adding further appeal to this new travel option.
