Caribbean Airlines has officially launched its new non-stop service linking Dominica and Puerto Rico, with inaugural flights BW 296 and BW 297 receiving warm welcomes upon arrival on August 15.
As part of the rollout, the Puerto Rico Tourism Company hosted a Dominica-based travel blogger to highlight attractions on the island. On the return leg to Douglas–Charles International Airport in Dominica, the aircraft was greeted with a traditional water salute. Tourism officials from Discover Dominica also presented arriving passengers with tokens to mark the occasion.
“The tourism industry is a key component of the Caribbean economy,” said Willianette Robles Cancel, Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company. “As part of its strategic plan to foster local and regional growth, the Puerto Rico Tourism Company continues to explore alliances that increase air access between destinations and promote multi-destination vacations. We welcome this new flight connection with Dominica and look forward to the new horizons and opportunities our partnership with Caribbean Airlines will bring.”
Caribbean Airlines had previously announced an enhanced commercial schedule to meet growing demand for regional travel. The new flights will support travel during the late summer peak and extend into the Christmas season.

Chekira Lockhart-Hypolite, praised the airline’s expanded service. “This new service brings incredible convenience—especially for travelers from the U.S. With less congestion than major hubs like Miami or New York, connecting travelers reach Dominica quicker and with less stress. Caribbean Airlines’ increased service from Trinidad further strengthens our regional links, giving travelers more seamless options through Port of Spain. This new route is a major step forward in improving access to Dominica, and we thank Caribbean Airlines for their partnership as we continue to make it easier for the world to visit our beautiful island.”
Alongside the new route, Caribbean Airlines has boosted non-stop services between Dominica and Trinidad, offering three weekly connections in both directions with onward links to and from New York.
The carrier said the expanded schedule reflects its commitment to consistent, reliable service and improved connectivity across the region. Tickets are available online, via the mobile app, ticket offices, the reservations call center, and through travel agents.
