This visit comes as Prime Minister Gaston Browne expresses a commitment to foster collaboration between Bridgetown and St. John’s, aimed at supporting the air bridge connection between Africa and the Caribbean.

Partnership agreement with Air Peace marks a significant step

During their talks, Prime Minister Browne revealed a groundbreaking agreement that signals a major milestone in the region’s aviation landscape.

This agreement, reached with Africa’s largest private carrier, Air Peace, is set to boost investments in LIAT 2020 Limited.

Air Peace: The new lifeline for LIAT

Under the terms of the agreement, Air Peace will assume a leading role as the primary funding source for LIAT.

This entails the acquisition of a substantial 70 per cent stake in the airline, effectively making Air Peace the majority shareholder.

Antigua and Barbuda, on the other hand, will retain 30 per cent ownership, reflecting the nation’s continued commitment to the carrier’s success.
