Opting to bat first, Leeward Islands struggled to build momentum and found themselves reeling at 26 for four in the 10th over, owing to disciplined bowling from Trinidad and Tobago. However, a crucial 43-run partnership for the fifth wicket between Jahzara Claxton (25 not out) and Divya Saxena (17) helped Leeward Islands post a modest total of 78 for six in their allotted 20 overs. Claxton showcased her resilience with a mature innings, while Saxena provided valuable support.

Trinidad and Tobago’s reply was clinical and efficient as they chased down the target with ease. Opener Shunelle Sawh played a pivotal role, anchoring the innings with a composed 20 not out, while experienced campaigner Britney Cooper contributed a brisk 21.

Djenaba Joseph provided the finishing touches with an unbeaten knock of 22, guiding Trinidad and Tobago to victory with nearly six overs to spare.

Trinidad and Tobago’s victory was characterized by a strong all-round performance, with both bat and ball, showcasing their determination to bounce back from their previous defeat. The comprehensive win provided Trinidad and Tobago with a much-needed boost as they look to build momentum in the Women’s T20 Blaze tournament and assert themselves as contenders for the title.
