Led by former West Indies captain Stafanie Taylor and international teammate Rashada Williams, Jamaica comfortably chased down Guyana’s target of 108 with 11 balls to spare.

Guyana, opting to bat first, struggled early on before Mandy Mangru and captain Shemaine Campbelle stabilized their innings with a crucial partnership. Mangru’s resilient 36 and Campbelle’s composed 33 guided Guyana to a total of 107 for seven from their allotted 20 overs.

Williams and Taylor rescued their innings

In response, Jamaica found themselves in a similar situation at 27 for two before Williams and Taylor rescued their innings with a vital 68-run partnership. Williams top-scored with 42, while Taylor contributed a quickfire 33 to steer Jamaica towards victory. Despite a brief scare when Taylor and Williams fell in quick succession, Jamaica’s middle order held firm to secure the win.

With this victory, Jamaica sits atop the standings with nine points, maintaining a four-point lead over second-placed Leeward Islands. Trinidad and Tobago follow closely in third place, while Guyana occupies the fourth position with four points.

The Women’s T20 Blaze tournament continues with Thursday’s matches, featuring T&T Red Force Divas against Windward Islands, Jamaica against Barbados, and Guyana against Leeward Islands.
