Garcia, a 27-year-old forward who has netted eight goals in 42 international appearances, currently dazzles for AEK Athens in Greece’s Super League, where his 2024-2025 season tally includes five goals and two assists in just 13 matches. Speaking on I95.5 FM, Garcia expressed his belief in Yorke’s unparalleled influence, both on and off the pitch.

‘A game-changer for the team’

“I don’t think people truly grasp how monumental Dwight’s appointment is,” Garcia remarked, reflecting on an earlier conversation with the former national star. “He’s not just a coach; he’s a global football icon whose presence will elevate the team and energize those around it.”

Yorke, who took the reins in November 2024, has been tasked with steering the Soca Warriors to the 2026 World Cup, a challenge that Garcia believes the coach is uniquely equipped to handle. “I’m genuinely excited to work with him, and I have no doubt he’ll unlock the full potential of this team,” Garcia affirmed.

“My primary goal is staying healthy because I know that when I’m fit, I can deliver at my best,” Garcia stated emphatically. “When I step onto the field for my country, I give 120 per cent every time.”

Garcia’s determination to overcome his physical challenges speaks volumes about his dedication to the national squad. “I’m doing everything I can to ensure I’m ready to contribute, to do what I do best, and to help Trinidad and Tobago reach new heights,” he added.
