Reggae Girlz defender Siobhan Wilson has inked a new one-year contract with Women’s Super League (WSL) division two side Birmingham City Women FC, marking her triumphant return to competitive football after a nine-month injury hiatus.
Wilson and Birmingham mutually confirmed the contract extension through a video message shared on the player’s and the club’s social media platforms on Wednesday. The new agreement will see the resilient Reggae Girl remaining with the club until 2025.
This announcement heralds a remarkable comeback for Wilson, whose previous season was cut short due to a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury sustained during a league match against Southampton. Despite the setback, Wilson has diligently worked her way back to full fitness and is now poised to resume her defensive duties.
The defender is set to make her return to action against the same opposition, Southampton, in the upcoming fixture scheduled for Sunday. Her commitment to Birmingham City Women FC underscores her determination to make a significant impact on the pitch following her injury rehabilitation.
