Rajindra Campbell secures Jamaica’s first medal at Paris 2024 Olympic

PARIS, France — Jamaica’s Rajindra Campbell secured Jamaica’s first medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games when he claimed bronze in the men’s shot put final.

The 28-year-old threw 22.15m, the same as the silver medal winner, American Joe Kovacs, who achieved his mark on his final attempt. The gold medal went to American Ryan Crouser with 22.90m.

Jamaica finished sixth in the final of the mixed 4x400m relay when they clocked 3:11.67 minutes behind the winners, The Netherlands, in 3:07.43 minutes and race favorite US in the silver-medal position in 3:07.74 minutes, and Great Britain in third place in 3:08.01 minutes.
