Over 1 million ticket applications flood in for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024

Excitement is soaring as cricket enthusiasts and newcomers eagerly anticipate the historic ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, set to take place in the West Indies and the USA from June 1 to June 29.

In a remarkable show of enthusiasm, the first 48 hours of the public ballot saw a staggering 1.2 million ticket applications flood in, showcasing the global appeal of this grand event.

Ticket applications have poured in from 126 countries, reflecting the global frenzy for the T20 World Cup. However, it’s the fans in the Americas who have shown the strongest demand, with over 900,000 ticket applications from residents in the USA and the West Indies.

Equal opportunity

The ticket ballot operates on a fair basis, ensuring that all fans have an equal chance of obtaining tickets. The seven-day window for applications remains open until 23:59 Antigua Standard Time on February 7, 2024.

Entering the ballot at tickets.t20worldcup.com gives fans the best chance to secure tickets for their desired matches and be part of the largest cricket carnival ever.

Any remaining tickets not reserved in the ballot will go on general sale after the ballot period closes. These tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at tickets.t20worldcup.com starting on February 22.

Affordable Pricing

Tickets for all 55 matches are affordably priced to attract both cricket enthusiasts and newcomers to the sport. Prices start at just US$6, and over 260,000 tickets will be available for US$25 and under across the group stage, Super Eight, and semi-finals.

ICC Head of Events, Chris Tetley, emphasized the strong demand for tickets, especially from the Americas, highlighting the region’s excitement for world-class cricket. He encouraged all fans interested in attending to enter the ballot before it closes.

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Tournament Director, Fawwaz Baksh, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response and urged fans, especially Caribbean fans, to seize the opportunity to apply for tickets and be part of a historic global World Cup festival.
