Miami’s first-quarter possessions showed promise as they moved the ball down the field, but they faced two key fourth-down situations. While they failed to convert on the first possession, opting for a field goal on the second attempt, they eventually reached the end zone on their third drive. First offensive touchdown
The Dolphins’ defense remained formidable, holding the Jets to just 47 net yards on offense in the first half and denying any third-down conversions. Despite a late interception, the Dolphins managed to extend their lead on the final play of the half when Jevon Holland returned an interception 99 yards for a touchdown, giving them a 17-6 advantage.
In the second half, the Dolphins continued their dominance, adding more points with a 54-yard field goal by Jason Sanders and a 13-yard touchdown run by Raheem Mostert. While the Jets managed to score their first offensive touchdown, the Dolphins responded with a 34-yard touchdown run by Mostert, sealing the 34-13 victory.
The Dolphins’ defensive performance was particularly noteworthy, limiting the Jets to just 29 rushing yards, which tied for the Jets’ lowest output in over a decade.
With this victory, the Miami Dolphins improved their record to 8-3 and will look to maintain their momentum when they face the Washington Commanders on Sunday at FedEx Field.
