Keacy Carty crafted a lively 60 while Alex Hales anchored the chase with an unbeaten 55, guiding the Knight Riders to 152 for two in 18.4 overs after restricting the Falcons to a modest 146 for seven. The result handed Trinbago their third victory in four games, vaulting them to second place on six points, just one behind the Falcons, who have played three games more.

Hales and Carty take charge

Set a below-par target, Trinbago stumbled early when Colin Munro departed with only 27 runs on the board. But Carty and Hales steadied the innings with a composed 87-run stand for the second wicket, built on sharp running and calculated stroke play rather than boundary-hitting fireworks.

Carty reached his half century in style, lofting Karima Gore for a towering six over long on, and continued to play positively until he chopped on against Jayden Seales for 60 off 45 balls, decorated with four fours and two sixes. Hales, measured and efficient, brought up his fifty from 43 balls, pulling Salman Irshad fine for four.

With the match well in hand, captain Nicholas Pooran provided the finishing flourish, blasting an unbeaten 23 off 11 balls in an unbroken 38-run partnership with Hales that sealed the win with eight deliveries to spare.

Amir Strikes early to break Falcons’ spirit

The platform for Trinbago’s victory was laid with the ball, as left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir ripped through the Falcons’ top order in a devastating opening spell. Player of the Match Amir trapped both openers, Rahkeem Cornwall and Karima Gore, lbw for ducks in the very first over to leave the visitors reeling at 0 for 2.

The collapse deepened when Shakib Al Hasan, Jewel Andrew, and Fabian Allen fell in quick succession, three wickets tumbling for no addition to the score as the Falcons slumped to 71 for six. Andrew’s 40 off 34 balls had provided a glimmer of stability, but his dismissal tilted momentum fully Trinbago’s way.

Late resistance came from captain Imad Wasim, who struck a defiant unbeaten 37 from 25 deliveries, and Usama Mir with a brisk 34 from 26, but their 62-run stand only carried the Falcons to a total that never truly threatened.

Amir finished with impressive figures of 3 for 22, supported ably by Andre Russell (2 for 23) and Akeal Hosein (2 for 25), ensuring the Knight Riders held firm control throughout.

Knight Riders’ momentum gathers

For Trinbago, the victory underscored a resurgence in form, with both their batting and bowling units clicking in tandem. With games in hand and a balanced squad firing on all fronts, the Knight Riders have positioned themselves as serious contenders to wrestle top spot from the Falcons as the league stage enters its decisive phase.
