Jason Mohammed played a pivotal role with an unbeaten 70, anchoring the successful run chase of 264 runs at Queen’s Park Oval.

Batting at number five, Mohammed’s resilient innings featured seven fours and came off 86 balls. He formed crucial partnerships, including a 50-run stand for the sixth wicket with Akeal Hosein and an unbroken 72-run partnership with Terrance Hinds, leading Red Force to victory.

Early struggles

Other contributors for Red Force included Tion Webster (45), Hosein (31), and Darren Bravo (21). West Indies Academy’s batting effort was led by the young talent, Auguste, who scored a run-a-ball 76.

Despite Auguste’s solid innings, West Indies Academy finished with a total of 263/8. They had early struggles but managed significant partnerships. Matthew Nandu (40), Kevin Wickham (31), and Kimani Melius (29) made valuable contributions.

In the end, Trinidad and Tobago Red Force maintained their position at the top of the tournament standings with four consecutive wins, while West Indies Academy faced their second loss in the competition.

The West Indies Super50 Cup continues with upcoming matches, including Barbados Pride against Guyana Harpy Eagles and Jamaica Scorpions against Windward Islands Volcanoes.
