Inaugural US Masters T10 League bowls off Friday at Broward County Cricket Stadium

An array of past cricketing greats from all over the globe will descend on the Broward County Cricket Stadium in the state of Florida for the inaugural staging of the US Masters T10 League over the next 11 days.

The league will be conducted off the pulsating 10-over format and will have legendary cricketers who have retired from the international format accompanying emerging stars.

It is organised by T-Ten Global Sports, presenters of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, with the help of Ritesh Patel, who also owns a participating franchise, the US-based SAMP Army.

Some of the household names down to compete are Chris Gayle, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Sing, Yusuf Pathan, Monty Panesar, Liam Plunkett, Albie Morkel, Jacques Kallis, Makhaya Ntini, Shahid Afridi, Misbah-ul-Haq, among many others.

The League bowls off on Friday and culminates on August 27 with six teams contesting 21 league games with the top four making the playoffs.

The six teams down to compete are New Jersey Triton’s, Atlanta Raiders, California Knights, Morrisville Unity, New York Warriors and the Texas Chargers.

The New Jersey Triton’sds will have three 2011 World Cup-winning players Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh and Yusuf Pathan, along with Liam Plunkett, Albie Morkel, Naman Ojha, Jesse Ryder, Chris Barnwell, Stuart Binny, RP Singh, Bipul Sharma, Craig Mcmillan, Tim Ambrose, Rajesh Bishnoi, Abhimanyu Mithun and Monty Panesar.

Big hitters Robin Uthappa and David Hussey will lead the charge for Atlanta Raiders along with Lendl Simmons, Muhammad Irfan, Dwayne Smith, Farhad Raza, Hammad Azam, Chaturanga De Silva, Elias Sunny, Nasir Hossain, Kamrul Islam, Junaid Siddique, Grant Elliot, Amila Aponso, Hamilton Masakada and S Sreesanth.

Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan and Mohammad Kaif will take centre stage for California Knights along with Aaron Finch, Peter Siddle, Jacques Kallis, Ricardo Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Ben Laughlin, Ashley Nurse, Rusty Theron, Anureet Singh, Pawan Suyal, Devendra Bishoo, Jesal Karia and Sudeep Tyagi.

The Morrisville Unity will have the services of the big-hitting West Indian Gayle and Indian legend Harbhajan Singh alongside Kevin O’Brien, Parthiv Patel, Corey Anderson, Rahul Sharma, Calvin Savage, Parvinder Awana, Andries Gous, Najaf Shah, Angelo Perera, Dane Piedt, Vikas Tokas, Dilshan Munaweera, Nuwan Kulasekara and Makhaya Ntini.

Pakistanis Shahid Afridi and Misbah-ul-Haq will lead the charge for New York Warriors with Johan Botha, Kamran Akmal, TM Dilshan, Jonathan Carter, Umaid Asif, Sohail Khan, Murali Vijay, Jerome Taylor, William Perkins, Abdur Rehman, Munaf Patel, Cody Chetty, Chamara Kapugedera and Dhammika Prasad.

Meanwhile, the Texas Chargers have put together Ben Dunk, Mohammed Hafeez, Ross Taylor, Isuru Udana, Thissara Perera, Neil Broom, Fidel Edwards, Umar Gul, Upul Tharanga, Praghyan Ojha, Jeevan Mendis, Siddharth Trivedi, Phil Mustard, Noor Ali Zadran, Praveen Kumar and Paul Adams for the inaugural edition of the US Masters T10 League.

Three games are scheduled for Match Day 1 on Friday, as Atlanta Raiders oppose Texas Chargers in the opening games at 9:30 am, followed by New Jersey Triton’s against California Knights at 11:45 am, with New York Warriors facing Morrisville Unity at 2:00 pm (all times EST).

Three games will also be played on Saturday and Sunday, followed by a rest day on Monday, before three more games on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the final on Sunday at 11:45 am (EST).
