Guyanese star Gudakesh Motie joins Amazon Warriors for inaugural GSL

Georgetown, Guyana –  Guyanese spin maestro Gudakesh Motie has been confirmed as a key member of the Guyana Amazon Warriors squad for the highly anticipated inaugural ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League (GSL).

Slated to run from November 26 to December 7, 2024, this groundbreaking tournament will showcase the Amazon Warriors and international teams battling for supremacy and a staggering $1 million prize fund.

Motie’s inclusion reinforces the Amazon Warriors’ roster with an exceptional blend of local talent and proven expertise. The 29-year-old spinner has been a cornerstone of the team since his debut in 2021, consistently delivering match-winning performances.

His most recent accolades came in the 2024 Caribbean Premier League (CPL), where he emerged as the Warriors’ leading wicket-taker, snaring 17 wickets at an average of 18.64. This performance not only secured their spot in the CPL final but also carried forward the momentum from their 2023 championship triumph.

As a bowler with remarkable control and the ability to stifle opposition scoring during the middle overs, Motie is expected to play a pivotal role in the Warriors’ quest for glory in this inaugural T20 extravaganza.
