Gudakesh Motie joins international elite for PSL season 10

LAHORE, Pakistan — The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to celebrate its milestone 10th season with a dazzling array of international cricketing talent, and West Indies’ left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie has been announced as one of its most exciting participants.

The league’s highly anticipated draft will unfold in the breath-taking coastal city of Gwadar, Balochistan, on January 11, 2025, setting the stage for an unforgettable tournament.

Motie, who made waves on the global stage by clinching the ICC Player of the Month award in June 2024, has earned his place among an illustrious line-up of international cricket stars. The 29-year-old Guyanese bowler joins the ranks of seasoned players like New Zealand’s Martin Guptill and Tim Southee, as well as South African powerhouse Rassie van der Dussen and Bangladesh’s iconic all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.

As the PSL celebrates its 10th anniversary, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reported an overwhelming response to its player registration drive, signaling an elevated level of competition and spectacle for cricket fans worldwide.

Draft order: Lahore Qalandars eye first pick

The draft promises drama and strategy as the order for the prestigious Platinum category has already been finalized. Defending champions Lahore Qalandars will make the first pick, followed by Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and Islamabad United. This coveted top spot gives the Qalandars an unmatched opportunity to bolster their squad with a marquee overseas player.
