Future legends to clash as CWI Under-15 tournament bowls off in Antigua

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua— The heartbeat of Caribbean cricket will echo across Antigua as the 2025 Rising Stars Under-15 Championship launches on April 15, setting the stage for six regional teams to duel in a five-round, 50-over extravaganza of youth cricket.

Organized by Cricket West Indies (CWI), the tournament promises a week of intense competition, captivating performances, and glimpses into the future of the sport in the region.

Held at four historic venues—Coolidge Cricket Ground, Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua Recreation Ground, and Liberta Sports Ground—this premier tournament will culminate in the crowning of a champion based on overall points across the rounds.

“This championship is a cornerstone of our developmental pathway,” CWI noted, “nurturing the next generation of international West Indies cricketers.”

Champions return and contenders rise

All eyes are on Barbados, the defending champions, who enter the 2025 edition with targets on their backs and a deep squad led by Captain Justin Parris. Their rivals—Jamaica, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Windward Islands, and hosts Leeward Islands—have all named formidable squads of their own, and the island is brimming with anticipation for fireworks on the field.
