The Scorpions showcased resilience and determination in their pursuit of a challenging target of 234 runs.

“Our team showed incredible spirit and determination throughout the match,” remarked Jamaica Scorpions captain Brandon King. “It was a hard-fought victory, and I’m proud of the way everyone contributed to our success.”

Facing adversity at 89-5

Facing adversity at 89-5 during lunch, the Scorpions found themselves in a precarious position. However, a remarkable partnership between Brandon King and Abhijai Mansingh propelled the team forward. King’s composed 65 and Mansingh’s gritty 42 provided the backbone for the Scorpions’ chase.

“We knew we had to dig deep and stay focused,” stated Abhijai Mansingh. “Every run mattered, and we were determined to see the team through to victory.”

With less than 50 runs to go, Derval Green and Jeavor Royal completed the victory shortly before the close of play. Despite the Academy’s best efforts, left-arm spinners Joshua Bishop and Ashmead Nedd couldn’t prevent the Scorpions from clinching the win.
