The highly anticipated West Indies Championship 2024, the premier four-day red ball tournament, is all set to commence simultaneously across Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Antigua from February 7 to 10.
With four matches kicking off the tournament, cricket enthusiasts are in for an exciting start to the championship.
Defending champions Guyana Harpy Eagles will launch their campaign for a second successive title as they take on Trinidad and Tobago Red Force at the Conaree Cricket Centre in St. Kitts. Meanwhile, the Leeward Islands Hurricanes will host the West Indies Academy at Warner Park in another thrilling encounter.
In Jamaica, the action will unfold at Sabina Park, where the Scorpions will face off against the Windward Islands Volcanoes in the feature match of the opening round. Simultaneously, the Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) will lock horns with the Barbados Pride at Chedwin Park.
The excitement will only intensify
As the tournament progresses, the excitement will only intensify with the second round scheduled from February 14 to 17. Matches will continue across various venues, including Sabina Park in Jamaica, Kensington Cricket Club, and Warner Park in St. Kitts.
The third round of the West Indies Championship is slated from February 21 to 24, followed by a brief break before the resumption of Rounds 4-5 from March 13 to 23, and Rounds 6-7 from April 10 to 20. Notably, every match of the championship will be streamed live on the Windies Cricket YouTube channel, ensuring fans don’t miss a moment of the action.
With an impressive line-up of teams and players, including Kraigg Brathwaite, Jermaine Blackwood, and Joshua DaSilva, among others, cricket aficionados can expect an enthralling display of talent and skill throughout the tournament.
