Record-breaking first Test set the tone
The foundation for the series victory was laid in emphatic fashion during the opening Test, where the West Indies overwhelmed Sri Lanka by an innings and 217 runs.
The hosts produced one of their finest batting performances in recent years, highlighted by Amir Jangoo's magnificent career-best 233 and an extraordinary 401-run sixth-wicket partnership with captain Roston Chase, who narrowly missed a double century after compiling 194.
Their record-breaking stand left Sri Lanka with no route back into the contest and propelled the West Indies to one of their most comprehensive Test victories in recent memory.
Greaves and Hope ensure series stays in Caribbean hands
With a commanding lead already established in the series, the West Indies needed only to avoid defeat in the second Test to secure the trophy.
They did so comfortably, earning a draw after another outstanding batting display.
All-rounder Justin Greaves anchored the innings with a superb 180, while Shai Hope added a polished 112 as the pair combined for a crucial 242-run partnership that placed the hosts firmly in control.
Their efforts ensured Sri Lanka never seriously threatened to level the series, allowing the West Indies to complete a deserved 1-0 triumph.
Encouragement for continued progress
WIPA's message recognized not only the significance of the series victory but also the encouraging signs of progress shown by a team blending experienced campaigners with emerging talent.
After delivering dominant performances with the bat, securing a convincing victory in the opening Test, and professionally managing the second to preserve the advantage, the West Indies leave the series with renewed momentum and the backing of the players' association as they continue their push to re-establish themselves among the leading Test-playing nations.
