WI Speedsters shine in 2nd Test

Speedsters Shannon Gabriel and Jason Holder shared the four wickets to fall as West Indies rattled Bangladesh to take control of the second and final Test at Sabina Park in Jamaica on Friday.

Responding to the Windies’ 354 all out, Bangladesh were slumping at 92 for four at tea on the second day, with experienced opener Tamim Iqbal unbeaten on 40.

Captain Shakib al Hasan struck 32 but the remainder of the batting buckled under the pressure of the Windies pace attack.

Gabriel has so far taken two for eight while Holder has claimed two for 29.

Resuming form 10 without loss at lunch, Bangladesh lost their first wicket in the fifth over following the resumption when Liton Das (12) was trapped lbw by Gabriel with 10 runs added to the total.

Mominul Haque then followed two balls later without scoring, edging Gabriel to Shai Hope at gully.

Tamim then combined with Shakib in a 59-run, third wicket stand to bail Bangladesh out of trouble before Holder struck twice about 20 minutes before tea when he removed Shakib and Mahmudullah (0) in the space of three deliveries.
