West Indies Women ‘A’ clinch series victory over Pakistan Women ‘A’

West Indies Women ‘A’ secured a series victory over Pakistan Women ‘A’ by defeating them in the final match of the three-match 50-over series.

The West Indies Women ‘A’ team was set a target of 164, and they successfully chased it down in the 45th over, winning the match by three wickets.

Nineteen-year-old Djenaba Joseph played a crucial role in the run chase, remaining unbeaten with a half-century of 51 not out off 84 balls. Joseph's innings included seven boundaries, and she built crucial partnerships during the chase, including a 32-run stand with opener Shunelle Sawh and a 45-run partnership with Cherry-Ann Fraser.

In the earlier part of the match, Pakistan Women ‘A’ were bowled out for 162, with contributions from several batswomen, including Sidra Nawaz, Anosha Nasir, and Shawaal Zulfiqar. Seamer Jahzara Claxton was the pick of the West Indies Women ‘A’ bowlers, taking four wickets.

Solid start

Shawaal Zulfiqar and Evman Fatima provided Pakistan Women ‘A’ with a solid start with a 49-run opening partnership. However, they lost wickets in quick succession, and Jahzara Claxton's bowling led to a middle-order collapse.

In their run chase, West Indies Women ‘A’ got off to a strong start with Shunelle Sawh and Shabika Gajnabi, who put on 53 runs for the first wicket. Despite a middle-order wobble, Djenaba Joseph held her nerve and anchored the innings to secure the series victory for her team.

The win marked a successful campaign for West Indies Women ‘A’ in Pakistan, with Djenaba Joseph's unbeaten fifty standing out as a key highlight of the match.
