Usain Bolt, renowned for his sprinting prowess and ventures in professional football and music production, is now considering adding athletics coaching to his repertoire.

This surprising shift comes as Bolt, now a father of three young children, including twin boys, believes he has developed the patience necessary for coaching.

In a recent interview with World Athletics, Bolt shared his evolving perspective on coaching, a career he once dismissed due to his perceived lack of patience. "I am mainly focusing on my kids right now. They are growing up. For me, it is fun. And I remember people always asking me, 'Are you gonna coach?' And I have always told people I have no patience to coach. Now that I have three kids, you have to have patience, and I think I am leaning to maybe coach one day," the sprint legend revealed.

Desire to learn from experienced coaches

He also expressed his desire to learn from experienced coaches, potentially emulating or surpassing their coaching abilities. Bolt's openness to coaching is a significant departure from his earlier stance.

After retiring from athletics in 2017, Bolt embarked on a quest to become a professional footballer, which, although unsuccessful, showcased his versatility. Subsequently, he ventured into Dancehall music production and established his Kingston-based A-Team label.

However, in April 2021, Bolt expressed frustration on Instagram, claiming that his contributions to Dancehall and Reggae music were being overlooked by the music fraternity. Yet, by April 2022, Dancehall icon Bounty Killer extended his full support to Bolt's music production endeavors, emphasizing Bolt's genuine passion for Dancehall music.

Fan of his work

Bounty Killer acknowledged Bolt as a friend and fan of his work, highlighting Bolt's deep love for Dancehall music and his role as a music enthusiast who should receive support from the industry. Bolt's dedication to music and his status as a major supporter of the genre were underscored by Bounty Killer.

As Bolt considers the coaching path in athletics, his journey continues to evolve, showcasing his adaptability and diverse interests beyond his celebrated sprinting career.
