UPDATE: 8-year-old boy reported missing found safe at home

An 8-year-old boy who was reported missing on Tuesday has been found safe, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Aleus Alfred went missing at around 10:45 a.m. and was last seen near Park Ridge Elementary School.

According to reports, officials from Broward County Public Schools said the child was found safe at home. 

A statement from the district said that the child ran away from staff and climbed a perimeter fence to leave campus while under the supervision of school employees.

Detectives said Alfred has been reunited with family.
