The TTFF team welcomed the alliance, calling it both strategic and symbolic. “We are thrilled to be partnering with OWP for the 19th edition staging of the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival,” said Melanie Archer, a member of the festival’s advisory group. Archer reflected on the area’s cultural significance: “I have lived in this vibrant, creative, and artistic centre of Port of Spain for almost two decades, and it’s been at the heart of some of my best festival experiences—from experimental films at Woodbrook art spaces to outdoor screenings on The Avenue.”
She said this return to Woodbrook signals the TTFF’s intent to reclaim the buzz, energy, and connection that once made it a beloved fixture on the Caribbean film calendar.
Backing this renewed vision is Cinema One, owner of the IMAX and Gemstone Cinemas at OWP, which will serve as the primary exhibition venue. “At Cinema One we truly believe in the power of local storytelling, so we’re honoured to be working with TTFF as the primary exhibition partner for TTFF/25,” said Ingrid Jahra, CEO of Cinema One. “We know our audiences will enjoy the festival experience and the range of excellent Caribbean films that will be on offer.”
As part of the collaboration, One Woodbrook Place will transform into a centralised festival hub, providing modern screening facilities, on-site dining, and space for outdoor screenings, networking mixers, pop-up events, and filmmaker Q&As. Festivalgoers will be able to enjoy everything from movie premieres to themed events in one walkable, social setting.
