T&T pastor assisting police in death of another pastor

Police are questioning a suspect in connection with the murder of a 42-year-old pastor, who was stabbed to death over the last weekend in Longdenville in Central Trinidad.

Police said that Baptiste religious leader, Alisa Ali, was stabbed in the face and chest on Saturday night and that the mother of two died at hospital.

They said they have held a suspect, a close relative of Ali and also a pastor, who migrated from Guyana several years ago. They said he also had military training.

Family members said that they tried to stop the killer as he ran out of the house, but he managed to escape in a waiting vehicle.

Police said they while have no motive for the killing, they are working on the theory that it could be a case of domestic violence as the suspect and Al had engaged in a quarrel prior to the incident.
