The Royal Grenada Police Force says Balboza, was arrested and charged along with Stephen Francis, 28, a local fisherman for the offence of robbery with violence in connection with the December 22nd robbery at Grand Mal Gas Station.
The police say Francis was also charged with the offence of assault with a dangerous instrument.
Both men were remanded to His Majesty’s Prisons and are scheduled to return to court on January 10.
The police report that on the evening of December 22, they received a complaint of a robbery at a business establishment.
Officers responded and preliminary enquiries revealed that masked individuals entered the business place demanding money from a member of staff.
The robbers fled with an undisclosed sum of money but were later held by the police.
According to Grenada’s criminal code which was amended in 2012 – whoever commits robbery by being armed with any offensive instrument or having made any preparation for using force or causing harm will be liable to imprisonment for 30 years.
