The Broward Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children, ICAC, detectives arrested a Tamarac man on Friday morning for several charges, including production of child pornography, solicitation of a minor, tampering with evidence and multiple counts of possession of child pornography.

According to reports In January, ICAC received a tip from an Internet search provider regarding an individual who was viewing child pornography. The investigation led detectives to the suspect, Julio Sanchez.

On Friday morning, detectives served a search warrant at Sanchez’s residence. According to detectives, Sanchez initially denied the allegations and stated that he recently lost his cellphone. Following a search of the home, detectives located Sanchez’s cellphone and laptop in a false compartment in a cabinet.

On the devices, detectives obtained evidence that Sanchez, posing as a young female, communicated online with several underage females in catfishing attempts. One of the underaged females, at Sanchez’s request, provided him numerous pornographic videos. Detectives also discovered numerous images of child pornography involving children as young as toddler age.

Following the discovery of the material, detectives say Sanchez confessed to the crimes.

This investigation is ongoing, and detectives are concerned there may be additional victims.

Anyone with information or believes they may know someone who is a victim should contact Detective Christopher DePelisi at 954-888-5272.
