SVG to host concert to divert youth from violence and crime

St Vincent and the Grenadines will be hosting the Pan Against Crime (PAC) 15th Anniversary Concert this month to encourage young people to turn their energies away from crime and into playing an instrument.
The event will take place on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at the Park Hill Playing Field.
The PAC 15th Anniversary Concert will be held under the theme“PLAY A PAN. ARRANGE A SONG. BUILD THE MIND. DOWN WITH VIOLENCE AND CRIME.”
Origin of Pan Against Crime Concert
Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves created the Pan Against Crime program on February 20, 2008, with the intention of utilizing the steel pan instrument to engage youth and divert them from criminal activity.
The National Commission on Crime Prevention (NCCP), the Pan Against Crime Committee (PAC), and the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) are working together to organize the event.
Acting Commissioner of Police Enville Williams and Pan Against Crime Committee Chair LaTeisha Sandy will make remarks during the concert.
The Prime Minister will give the feature address.
