A man was taken into custody Tuesday morning after leading police on a chase following a shooting in southwest Miami-Dade.

Reports from the Miami-Dade Police are that just after midnight near the 13600 block of Southwest 268th Street, officers found a person who was shot in the arm following an argument.

The unidentified victim was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital South in stable condition.

However, the shooter, who was also unidentified, left the scene in a stolen car, according to the police.

Police attempted to stop the car when he was later spotted at Palmetto Bay but he managed to escape from the scene.

Reports are that a chase began and continued onto the Don Shula Expressway, where the car struck two other vehicles before stopping.

No injuries were reported.

The man was subsequently taken into custody.
