The government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be holding a ceremonial sitting of the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ)  to honor the new president of the regional court, Justice Adrian Saunders.

The CCJ President, who was born in St. Vincent and the Grenadines said he is honored to be recognized in his ‘first home”.

“It is with much anticipation that I return to my home country to preside at this first sitting of the CCJ in St Vincent and the Grenadines. While I am a son of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, I have become a true Caribbean man, living in so many of our nations and working for over two decades in service to the region.”

The ceremonial sitting, scheduled for Friday afternoon will be moderated by the CCJ’s Justice David Hayton.

Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Dr. Ralph Gonsalves  will head the list of speakers who will pay tribute to Saunders.

The new President was installed at a ceremony in Montego Bay, Jamaica  earlier this month. A graduate of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Justice Saunders was among the first cohort of judges to join the CCJ bench in 2005,  before being elevated to President.
