Caribbean countries continue to be rattled by earthquakes over the past 48 hours with the Trinidad-based Seismic Research centre (SRC) of the University of the West Indies (UWI) noting that the latest tremor occurred on Monday night.

According to the SRC, the quake with a magnitude of 4.1 occurred at 8.47 pm (local time) and was felt 75 kilometers (km) west of San Fernando,  south of Trinidad and Tobago’s capital, as well as 81 km southwest of the capital and 103 km southwest of Arima, east of here.

The earthquake had a depth of 10km and there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries as a result.

The SRC also reported that at 9.27 pm (local time) on Sunday night, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 rattled Antigua and Barbuda, St.Kitts-Nevis, and the French island of Guadeloupe.

It said that the quake at a depth of 10 km was felt 110 km north, northwest of St. John’s, the Antigua capital, 113 km northeast of Basseterre, the capital of St. Kitts-Nevis and 212 km, north, northwest of Point-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe.
