Silver Airways plane clips parked aircraft at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport

In a bizarre incident at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, a Silver Airlines plane inadvertently collided with a parked aircraft from the same airline earlier this morning.

Reports are that the mishap unfolded shortly before 8 a.m.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the incident occurred while the Silver Airways plane was being towed at FLL.

A close encounter

Chopper 6’s aerial images provided a  perspective on the close encounter between the two Silver Airways planes. 

The incident occurred in an area not under air traffic control, the FAA reported.

No injuries reported

A spokesperson from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport confirmed that neither of the planes had any occupants at the time of the collision. 

Officials said the incident has had no impact on airport operations.
