Shanice Beckford embraces Super Netball League Challenge in Australia

Shanice Beckford, the dynamic Jamaica goal attack, is gearing up for her debut season in the prestigious Super Netball League (SNL) in Australia after receiving an irresistible offer from the West Coast Fever.
Initially contemplating stepping away from professional netball following her bronze medal win with the Sunshine Girlz at the World Cup in South Africa last year, Beckford couldn't resist the opportunity presented by the SNL.
Expressing her surprise at the offer from the Fever, Beckford acknowledged the excitement and nerve-wracking anticipation of joining one of the highest standards of netball competition.
Stark contrast to her previous training routines in Jamaica
Joining the Fever in Perth, Beckford finds familiarity in teammates Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard and Kadie-Ann Dehaney, further enhancing her comfort in the new environment.
Adapting to the Fever's training standards and structure during preseason, Beckford recognizes the stark contrast to her previous training routines in Jamaica. She embraces the challenge of adjusting to the rigorous training regimen, acknowledging the opportunity to unlock new levels of performance.
Reflecting on her past experience playing for Northumbria in the Netball Super League in the United Kingdom, Beckford draws parallels to prepare for the SNL. She emphasizes the importance of consistency in combinations and adapting to new playing rules, particularly focusing on maximizing the Super Shot period.
Need to strike a balance
Off-court, Beckford prioritizes recovery and downtime, recognizing the need to strike a balance between training, playing, and rejuvenating activities like beach outings.
With a resilient mindset, Beckford approaches her SNL journey with determination, ready to confront any challenges head-on and make the most of the opportunity presented to her in the elite netball arena.
