An urgent search operation is underway in the hilly terrain of Ballards Valley in St Elizabeth, Jamaica, for a 60-year-old British man who has been reported missing after going for a nature walk on Sunday.

Reports are that Robert Dyer arrived in Jamaica on November 3 and was staying with relatives.

A united front in search operations

The quest to locate Dyer sees the convergence of over 250 local residents, demonstrating a powerful display of communal solidarity.

According to Jamaican media reports, the operations, spearheaded by the acting Superintendent of the St Elizabeth police division, Coleridge Minto, have evolved into a robust collaboration between the Jamaica Constabulary Force and the Jamaica Defence Force.

Comprehensive search tactics

The search strategy also involves the use of canine units from both forces, which have been scouring the area since Sunday.

The expansive search has covered miles of terrain, with teams unwavering in their resolve.
