Sangster Airport launches direct flights between Montego Bay and Guadeloupe

He added that beyond boosting trade and tourism, the route will help strengthen cultural ties between Jamaica, Guadeloupe and the wider Eastern Caribbean.
Liat Air Chief Executive Officer Hafsah Abdulsalam said the new connection broadens access to one of the Caribbean's leading tourism destinations while improving regional connectivity.
"The introduction of flights between Guadeloupe and Montego Bay opens seamless access to one of the region's most dynamic tourism markets, not only from the Caribbean, but from the European corridor," Abdulsalam said. "Montego Bay is already a key destination within the Liat Air network, and extending direct access from Guadeloupe enhances travel options and deepens integration across the Greater Caribbean."
The Montego Bay-Guadeloupe service is the latest route added at Sangster International Airport this year. Other recent additions include Wingo's direct flights to Medellín, Colombia, launched in June, as well as new seasonal services from Air Canada and Porter Airlines for the upcoming winter travel season.
With the latest addition, Sangster International Airport now serves 48 scheduled and seasonal destinations.
The expanded air service comes as Jamaica's tourism industry continues to recover following Hurricane Melissa. According to the Ministry of Tourism, the island welcomed more than 1.5 million stopover and cruise visitors through May 2026, with tourism officials citing increased airlift as one factor supporting the sector's recovery.
MBJ Airports Limited said it remains committed to expanding connectivity and enhancing airport services as demand for travel to Jamaica continues to grow.
