Roots reggae heavyweight Alborosie makes a soulful return this week with “Come My Way,” a stirring new single and the first taste of his forthcoming tenth studio album.

Dropping April 25 via VP/Greensleeves Records, the track comes paired with a visually lush music video filmed on the sun-drenched shores of Canoa Quebrada, Ceará, Brazil.

With “Come My Way,” Alborosie taps into reggae’s foundational DNA, reimagining one of the genre’s most iconic riddims—the same rhythmic bedrock first laid down by Jacob Miller in his 1974 hit “Baby I Love You So,” and immortalized in dub history with “King Tubby Meets the Rockers Uptown.” That legendary track, produced by Augustus Pablo and featuring reggae greats like Aston “Family Man” Barrett and Lloyd “Tin Leg” Adams, was the first dub song released as an A-side in the UK and even earned a spot on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Alborosie doesn’t just revisit the riddim—he reveres it. “Come My Way” is a lovers rock gem, warm with layered harmonies, live instrumentation, and nods to Dawn Penn’s “Night and Day” and Chronixx’s “Alpha and Omega,” both of which also drew from the Augustus Pablo classic. The result is a rootsy, meditative vibe that bridges vintage reggae and contemporary soul.

He’s also set to appear on the deluxe edition of Afrobeat artist Seun Kuti’s Heavier Yet (Lays the Crownless Head).
