Jamaica's Under-20 national team, the Reggae Boyz, kicked off their campaign at the 2024 CONCACAF Men’s Under-20 Championship Qualifying in St. Kitts with a strong performance, securing a 1-0 victory over Martinique on Saturday.
Romain Blake emerged as the hero for the Reggae Boyz, netting the only goal of the match in the 67th minute at the St. Kitts Technical Centre. His decisive strike ensured Jamaica claimed all three points in the Group F fixture.
Following their successful opener, Jamaica's U20 team will now face Grenada in their next match on Monday, followed by a final group fixture against Bermuda on Wednesday.
In the other Group F encounter, Bermuda emerged 2-1 victors over Grenada. Sachiel Ming (37th minute) and Riley Robinson (71st minute) found the back of the net for Bermuda, while Vijay Valcin (42nd minute) scored for Grenada.
The qualifying tournament, featuring a total of 27 teams competing across five different venues in Central America and the Caribbean, will continue until March 2.
