Roje Stona's gold medal, the first in the event for Jamaica, has pushed the nation's tally to five, an unprecedented four of which have come in the field events. He is coached by triple Olympic shot put champion Ryan Crouser, who also specializes in the discus event.
Rajindra Campbell won bronze in the shot put, Shanieka Ricketts won silver in the triple jump and Wayne Pinnock secured silver in the long jump. Kishane Thomspon secured the country's only track medal so far, with silver in the men's 100m.
