Organizers said Broward Welcomes the World will serve as a platform to connect municipalities, residents and visitors through sports, cultural programming and community engagement initiatives tied to the World Cup.

The announcement will also include details about a June 6-7 kickoff celebration in Lauderhill featuring international soccer, youth-focused activities, cultural experiences and performances by Jamaican entertainers Wayne Wonder, Spragga Benz, Jahshii and LAA Lee.

Officials are expected to discuss the anticipated tourism, economic and community benefits the initiative could generate across Broward County in the lead-up to and during the World Cup.
