Privy Council grants Barbudans appeal in airport case

The London-based Privy Council has ruled in favor of two Barbuda residents, affirming their appeal against the Development Control Authority and others regarding the proposed construction of an airstrip on the island.

The Privy Council upheld the appeal, recognizing the appellants’ concerns about environmental issues and breaches of the 2003 Act related to the development permit.

Environmental advocacy

The ruling amplifies the residents’ voices in advocating for environmental preservation and highlights the need to address the ecological impact of development projects on Barbuda.
