President of Broward College resigns abruptly

Gregory Haile, the president of Broward College since 2018, has expressed his intention to step down from the college’s leadership.

This decision, as reported by the Miami Herald, was conveyed through a resignation letter sent directly to the board of trustees.

Resignation follows the appointment of new board members

Haile’s announcement arrives on the heels of a significant change within the college’s administration.

Just one month prior, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis made waves by appointing several conservative figures to Broward College’s governing board.

The board’s response

Reports are that the board did not initially accept Haile’s resignation.

It is yet to be seen whether they will find a replacement or try to get Haile to remain as president.
