Posh manager applauds Reggae Boy Clarke-Harris' heroic performance

Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson had high praise for Jamaica international Jonson Clarke-Harris after his stunning performance, securing a 2-2 draw against League One promotion rivals, Barnsley.

The 29-year-old striker, who is widely expected to make a move from Peterborough in the January transfer window, put aside the speculation to help his team rally from a two-goal deficit in an exciting League One match last Friday.

In front of the home fans at London Road, Clarke-Harris netted twice, heading in crosses from David Ajiboye and Harrison Burrows on either side of half-time, earning his team a valuable point after a two-month absence from the starting line-up.

Clarke-Harris, who now has 10 goals this season, with six in the league, is seen as a player likely to leave the club soon. Manager Darren Ferguson acknowledged this reality, saying, "Jonno knows his time is up at the club as he's likely to get a move in January. He's a great example of someone who has trained well and been great with the younger players."

No striker better than him in the box

Ferguson continued, "There is no striker better than him in the box in the league – simple as that. Once we started getting quality into the box, he scored goals. I thought he was great, and if we had got the penalty – and we must surely be due one – he would have taken it and probably ended up with a hat-trick."

He also commended the character of his players for coming from behind, emphasizing their determination and desire to avoid losing games.

Peterborough, also known as 'The Posh,' currently sits third in the League One standings, just four points behind top-placed Portsmouth and two points behind second-placed Bolton at the end of the year.
