Popular Jamaican disc jockey, Shawn Stewart, also known as DJ Kentucky, was charged on Thursday for reportedly raping a 12-year-old Anchovy High School student last year.

The DJ turned himself over to the Freeport police in St. James on Thursday and was charged after being questioned.

According to reports, on August 8, 2022, the student asked Stewart for help in purchasing a birthday gift for her mother, when he told her to accompany him to his house to get the money.

When they arrived at his house, Stewart allegedly held the girl and forcefully had intercourse with her, following which he dropped her off at a location in Montego Bay.

The child informed her parents about the occurrence, and a police report was filed.

A search was later launched for Stewart, who works both locally and internationally.
