Passenger on American Airlines flight dies following emergency landing in TCI

An American Airlines journey turned somber last evening when an unforeseen medical emergency necessitated a sudden diversion to the Turks and Caicos Islands. 

The incident occurred on flight AA 2790, en route from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Passenger fell ill

The calm of the flight was shattered when a 41-year-old female passenger suddenly fell ill.

Despite the swift response and the efforts to provide life-saving cardiopulmonary resuscitation by the flight crew, the situation necessitated an immediate emergency landing to seek medical intervention.

Emergency landing

Reports are that the plane diverted to the Providenciales International Airport around 6:18 pm.

The passenger was transported to Cheshire Hall Medical Centre in a bid for medical intervention; however, despite the best efforts of the healthcare professionals, she was pronounced dead.
