Oblique Seville and Tia Clayton set track track ablaze at Velocity Fest

Velocity Fest 14 witnessed remarkable performances from Jamaican sprinters Oblique Seville and Tia Clayton, who both achieved significant personal bests at the National Stadium in Kingston on Saturday.

Seville, known for his success in the 100m, displayed his versatility by dominating the men's 200m event. Coached by Glen Mills at Racers Track Club, Seville clocked a blistering time of 20.17 seconds, setting a new personal best and claiming the world-leading time for the season.

In the women's 100m, Tia Clayton showcased her potential with outstanding performances throughout the event. Clayton lowered her personal best twice, first to 11.13 seconds in the heats and then to 11.12 seconds in the final, securing victory and leaving her competitors trailing behind.

The meet also witnessed other notable performances, including Sada Williams' solid performance in the women's 200m and Ramone Barnswell's victory in the men's 100m. Athletes like Shashalee Forbes and Tovea Jenkins also delivered commendable performances in their respective events.

With impressive displays across various disciplines, Velocity Fest provided a platform for Jamaican athletes to showcase their talent and set the stage for upcoming competitions on the international stage.
