OBA member calls for referendum on CARICOM membership

The David Burt administration has signaled its intention to pursue full membership in the 15-member regional integration body.
Acknowledging this, Bermuda has received authorization from Britain to initiate negotiations with CARICOM.
Despite assurances from Burt regarding extensive public consultation, the government has not confirmed whether a referendum will precede the decision on full CARICOM membership.
Foley, recently confirmed as the OBA candidate for the St David’s Constituency, stresses his dedication to representing the constituency and effecting positive change in constituents’ lives.
In addressing the political landscape, Foley opts for substantive discussions over personal attacks, highlighting the need for respectful dialogue.
The seat is currently held by Government backbencher Lovitta Foggo, who secured victory in the previous general election.
